A trip to Saint Augustine, Florida

Hi Everyone! Sorry I've been MIA. It's been so hectic around here with the launch of STK. Alhumdulillah, it's such an amazing feeling to be able to provide a product that people can't find anywhere else. It truly brings me joy when I see my clients delighted with their purchase!

In this post, I wanted to shine some light on my recent trip to Saint Augustine, Florida for my best friend’s wedding. I actually never heard of this place before, but let me tell you, it wasBEAUTIFUL! Saint Augustine had a wonderful Spanish and European vibe. There were so many places that had an incredible historical background and the architecture was absolutely breathtaking! Did you know Saint Augustine is actually the oldest city in America?

In the pictures above you'll see the Lightener Museum, Casa Monica Hotel, and Flagler College. They also have Ghost tours! Because this city is so old, they say there's an interesting amount of paranormal activity…creepy! But so cool!

Now onto my favorite topic, food! So personally, I only eat Zabihah Halal food. When I go to new places, I pull out my handy dandy Zabihah App (shout out to Blue Clues). Saint Augustine did not have any Zabihah restaurants close by, but that didn't bother me. I honestly love eating a variety of foods that don't contain meat. For example, pasta, enchiladas, shrimp, salmon, bean burgers, etc. However, I am very picky with the kind of fish I eat. It literally has to be cooked well so I don't taste or smell anything fishy. People usually look at me like I’m crazy when I ask them if their fish is very fishy. For dinner, I ordered the Salmon at Mojo City BBQ and when I say it was delicious I mean it was AMAZING! I had steamed corn and mac and cheese on the side and OMG! It was SO good! You have to try it if you ever go here.

For Breakfast, I went to Maple Street Biscuit Company. The biscuits were pretty bomb but most of them were served with chicken. I opted for the entree, Sunshine in the Garden. If you don't like tomatoes, this is not the dish for you. I thought it was really good, but I do think a bit of hot sauce would have made it even better (It needed that kick of flavor).

Overall, Saint Augustine is a beautiful place to visit. However, I don’t think you’ll need more than 3 days to enjoy the city. It's pretty small and has limited things to do. But if you ever decide to go, let me know. I definitely want to hear your thoughts about it!
